Dear GeoGebra Community Member,

I am very happy to inform you about GeoGebra’s new partnership with BYJU’S, see https://www.geogebra.org/m/fzkjvuuv

GeoGebra’s apps, classroom resources, GeoGebra Classroom, & other features will continue to be available to the public for free. This will not change. In fact, this new partnership now empowers us to greatly improve these existing features while we create new ones.

What is the background of the partnership between GeoGebra & BYJU’S?

The founder Byju Raveendran and his core team are math teachers themselves, who have used GeoGebra in their own classes for many years and love our software. So of course we got along very well straight away. BYJU’S has been one of our many partners for several years and widely uses GeoGebra in their math courses in India. Based on this very successful collaboration, GeoGebra is now part of the BYJU’S family. We are convinced that together we can make a positive contribution to ensuring that children and young people all over the world have more fun and enjoyment in mathematics.

What will change for our community?

Nothing! GeoGebra GmbH is and remains an Austrian company based in Linz and with Markus Hohenwarter as managing director. All employees will stay, of course. All contracts, agreements and software licenses of GeoGebra GmbH remain unchanged. This also includes our data protection guidelines – the security of our user data is and will remain very important to us. The GeoGebra apps, web services and teaching materials on our website are and will remain free for our user community – that is of course a very central point. By partnering with BYJU’S, GeoGebra will simply be able to make new free functions and tools available to our global user community more quickly.

Thank you for being one of GeoGebra’s great community members! If you have any questions, please let us know anytime. In order to answer your questions personally, I also invite you to our GeoGebra joins BYJU’S Q&A Meeting on Thursday, December 16 at 3:00 p.m. (CET).
